A current collector is a device that lets an EOT (Electric Overhead Traveling) crane receive electrical power while it moves along the runway. Since the crane is constantly in motion, it cannot be directly wired to a power source. The current collector bridges this gap by continuously picking up electrical power from a fixed conductor system and transferring it to the moving crane equipment
